I mean familyless in France and didn’t go back home during Christmas, had some activities to be less bored or lonely; and one of such activities was a ‘one day trip’. Since we were in Lille , the hub of Western Europe, we decided to visit the famous Christmas markets in Cologne , Germany. From Lille, we spent around four hours in the bus before arriving in Cologne. Despite being drowsy from a long nap in the bus, I grabbed my friend's hand and a map to explore the city in a ‘rushy-style’ tour under gloomy clouds. The first destination was, of course, the most striking landmark of the city: Cologne Cathedral . With its pointed arches and large windows, you can tell right away that it’s a Gothic style. Started being built in the 13 th century; the cathedral was completed in the 19 th . Today the Cologne Cathedral is declared a World Heritage Site. With the height of 15

  English version click here ในปีแรกของการมาเรียนที่ฝรั่งเศส เราเหล่านักศึกษาต่างชาติผู้ไร้บ้าน เอ้ย ! ไร้ครอบครัวญาติพี่น้องในฝรั่งเศส และไม่ได้เดินทางกลับภูมิลำเนาในช่วงเทศกาลต่างก็พากันจับกลุ่มหากิจกรรมทำคลายเหงากันไปค่ะ และหนึ่งในกิจกรรมเหล่านั้นก็คือการไปเที่ยวแบบ One day trip ค่ะ ไหนๆ เราก็อยู่ในเมือง Lille (ลีล) ที่ได้ขึ้นชื่อว่าเป็น Hub หรือศูนย์กลางของยุโรปแล้ว คราวนี้เรากับเพื่อนๆ เลยถือโอกาสไปเที่ยวชมตลาดคริสต์มาสอันโด่งดัง ณ เมือง Cologne (โคโลญ) ประเทศเยอรมนีกันค่ะ จาก Lille เดินทางตรงดิ่งมายังเมือง Cologne โดยรถบัสแบบเหมาคันใช้เวลาประมาณเกือบ 4 ชั่วโมง เราที่แม้จะยัง สะลึมสะลือจากการงีบยาวบนรถรีบคว้ามือเพื่อนและแผนที่ออกไปสำรวจเมืองแบบ ‘ ชะโงกทัวร์ ’ อย่างไม่รีรอแม้ฝนจะเริ่มตั้งเค้ามาแต่ไกล โดยจุดหมายแรกของเราก็หนีไม่พ้นแลนด์มาร์กของเมืองอย่าง Cologne Cathedral มองแค่ปราดเดียวก็รู้ว่ามหาวิหารแห่งเมือง Cologne แห่งนี้ได้รับอิทธิพลของสถาปัตยกรรมโกธิกมาแบบเต็มๆ โดยเริ่มสร้างขึ้นตั้งแต่ศตวรรษที่ 13 แต่กว่าจะแล้วเสร็จเป็นรูปเป็นร่างก็กว่าอีก 6 ศตวรรษถัดมา ทุกวันนี้ C
